The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands House of Representatives yesterday voted to impeach Gov. Benigno Fitial.

The House adopted 13 of the 18 articles listed in a resolution to remove the governor. The remaining five will be considered today.

CNMI governor impeached on additional felony charges

Gov. Benigno R. Fitial has been impeached by the House on additional felony charges Monday afternoon.

The governor can be impeached and convicted on any of the 18 allegations of corruption, felony and neglect of duty.
